The sisters of Sigma Delta Tau sorority got an unexpected wake-up call Sunday morning, when actors Adam Brody and Rachael Leigh Cook visited the Hill Street house to register voters for Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama.

“I just touched Adam Brody!” one pajama-clad sister screamed after posing for a picture with the actor.

The two actors weren’t there just to sign autographs; instead, they registered voters for the 47-year-old Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama.

Brody and Cook are just two of about the half-dozen celebrities who have come to Ann Arbor recently to register voters and encourage volunteers to continue canvassing for Obama.

Earlier this month, Kal Penn of “Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle” and Jurnee Smollett of “The Great Debaters” registered voters on the Diag. Actress Jamie Lee Curtis met with volunteers Thursday in Obama’s Ann Arbor campaign office.

Bringing celebrities to college campuses has long been a tactic of Democratic campaigns. The strategy certainly creates buzz for the candidates, but some question whether entertainers can influence undecided voters.

Students will get a chance to tailgate with Adam Brody and Rachel Leigh Cook before the football game at 4 p.m. Saturday.

Brody, from “The O.C.,” and Cook, from “She’s All That,” are being brought to campus by Students for Barack Obama.

Students for Barack Obama President and Freeland senior Matt Sous said the two celebrities will be tailgating with the College Democrats in lot 63.

Adam attended the screening of “Death in Love” at the 2008 Film Festival. So far, I’ve only found two pictures from the event, hopefully more will pop up. For now enjoy these two great articles about Adam at the event!

‘O.C.’ hottie Adam Brody has faith in Mormon film role

“The O.C.” heartthrob Adam Brody says he hopes that FOX will take a page from the CW’s playbook and bring his California-set teen soap back to TV – a la “90210” – and “the sooner the better!”

“I will never be on it,” Brody told the Track. “But I hope they bring it back.”

So apparently Adam has no intention of pulling a Shannen Doherty and Jennie Garth and reinventing angst-ridden Seth Cohen as, perhaps, a rabbi who returns to his upscale ’hood???

“It would be like going back to high school or college,” he said. “But I would be totally thrilled if they did it.

Brody was in town last night for the East Coast debut of his indie flick “Death In Love” at the Boston Film Festival. The 28-year-old TV star held court solo at a prescreening bash at Vox Populi but was joined later at the screening by co-star Josh Lucas.

The flick is the story of a Jewish woman who has a love affair with a sadistic doctor in a Nazi concentration camp and the effect the liaison has on her two sons.

Lucas plays the older son, who works at a modeling agency where he meets Brody, who plays against type as a young Mormon.

“It’s not like I was raised Orthodox in any way shape or form,” he said. “But it felt hilarious giving a monolouge about being raised Mormon.”

The flick was written and directed by Boaz Yakin of “Remember the Titans” fame, who, we hear, will win Best Directing kudos from the BFF.
